• Hannelien Hattingh

'Being a famers wife you have to keep yourself busy", Hannelien says. Hannelien started her own Taxidermy business while living on their farm, exporting her unique work all over the world. After 20 years in the business she sold the business and moved to George, in the Western Cape. As the rest of the world was affected by COVID, Hannelien decided to learn to paint, seeking the internet for guidance she found herself developing her skill for painting. Hannelien says she has always been very crafty, practicing pottery, bead weaving, woodworking, brazing, steel work, building trailers. She is no quitter, if she puts her mind to it, she can do it. Once in George she joined multiple art societies. Ever since, her work can be viewed in the George Museum and in Wilderness at Cebesa Gallery. Hannelien has recently started exhibiting 'Steampunk' themed sculptures at Cabesa Gallery in Wilderness.
